Basuri Baja Competition Organized in Thimi

Lyaymha Pucha Thimi organized Madhyapur Thimi wide “Basuri Baja Pratiyogita” (traditional flute competition) at Dui Pokhari, Thimi. The program was organized to promote and encourage to preserve the culture.
Fifteen different basuri khala (basuri groups) had participated in the competition. Each groups were given 6 minutes for two rounds. Nawa Yeithasik Basuri Khala Nagadesh became the first in the competition and bagged 25,000 NRs. Similarly Bajranga Bali Basuri Khala, Lokanthali and Surye Vinayak Basuri Khala, Pwobu were second and third positions and they received NRs. 15,000 and 10,000 respectively. Nritya Nath Basuri Khala, Nagadesh got the consolation prize and received NRs 5000. The program concluded with the distribution of the prizes by Informationa and Communication minister Dr. Minendra Rizal.
