Driver’s assistant falls off moving bus, dies

A driver’s assistant died after he fell off the moving bus in Gaththaghar of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-3 in Bhaktapur district on Monday night.

The deceased has been identified as Lakshman Chaudhary (22) of Lakshminiya in Rautahat district.

According to police, the incident occurred when Chaudhary fell down from the door of the bus (Ba 2 Kha 6973) descending along the road near Sajha Petrol Pump at 6:45 pm yesterday, which critically injured him.

Chaudhary was rushed to the Thimi-based Madhyapur Hospital, where he breathed his last during the course of treatment, informed the police.

Meanwhile, Thimi Police have impounded the bus and detained its driver for further investigation, said police.
