Madhyapur Thimi mayor Shrestha attacked

Mayor of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality Madan Sundar Shrestha has been assaulted by two persons at around 6:00 this evening.

Mayor Shrestha has sustained injuries in legs, hands, and head after he was thrashed with iron rods.

“Two unidentified persons called while I was entering his house and I was immediately attacked, Shrestha said.”

After the attack, Mayor Shrestha managed to escape by hiding in a nearby mobile phone shop. The Mayor is receiving treatment in Madhyapur Thimi Hospital.

Likewise, the attackers have also ravaged Mayor Shrestha’s vehicle bearing registration Ba 8 cha 8720.

A man-hunt is underway, Police said.
